Hi there!
I’m excited to announce the creation of Ectasis Books, a new imprint housed under Crypsis Press.
What is Ectasis Books?
First some background. Crypsis Press was founded to house high-quality speculative fiction in a hybrid publishing format. Since it’s creation in January, we’ve seen more manuscript submissions than anticipated, many of which are extremely well-written, but aren’t the right fit for Crypsis Press.
This led us to launch the imprint Ectasis Books, with the tagline Stretching the Limits of Fiction. Ectasis Books is built on the same hybrid publishing model as Crypsis Press, but is open to a much wider variety of fiction. We want everyone, not just the speculative fiction writers, to have a professional home for their books, and we have the tools to make that happen.
Going forward, Crypsis Press and Ectasis Books will collaborate and cross-promote, but as distinct brands so readers will know what to expect when diving into a book from either imprint.
We have a very exciting debut title coming from Ectasis Books in early January, 2027. Stay tuned for more updates!
Submissions to both Crypsis Press and Ectasis Books are open at crypsispress.com/submissions with a new submission form to help us streamline and respond to authors faster than ever! Now you can simply indicate which imprint you’d like to submit to when submitting the first pages of your manuscript.
